Last chance to speak

A day after a jury sentenced Zacarias Moussaoui to life in prison, the only man to stand trial in the U.S. for the 9/11 attacks will get one last chance Thursday to speak publicly when District Judge Leonie Brinkema sentences Moussaoui to life in prison without the possibility of release. I think it is very good that the media is covering this story because 9/11 was a big part of the U.S. and people want to know who is going to be blamed for the attack. To read more click here.

Mother of abandoned baby found

Hollywood Police reported that the mother of an abandoned baby boy at a laundromat on the 1900 block of Johnson Street had been located and arrested this morning. The mother of the abandoned baby is Estela Román-Morales, 28. The media should be covering the story the way that they are because this is not right, and people should be made aware that there are some people who are not mentally in the right state of mind.

Tate competent to understansd legal proceedings

A Broward County judge found Lionel Tate mentally competent to understand legal proceedings, even after allegations surfaced that the convicted child-killer suffered abuse at the hands of his own mother while a youngster. The media is blowing this whole story out of proportion. Lionel Tate is a convicted child-killer, now he will always be in the spot light for everything he does, good or bad, because the media is constantly on top of him.

Man shot to death after chase

A 54-year-old Fort Myers man was shot to death by police after a 35-mile, bullet-riddled two-county chase that reached speeds of 100 mph from the Lantana area to Margate along U.S. 441/State Road 7. The media should be covering this story more becaue this man was innocently killed, and someone should be responsible for the shooting.

Woman dies on Disney World ride

A woman died Wednesday after going on a ride at Walt Disney World so intense that it has motion sickness bags. A 49-year-old woman was riding "Mission: Space" on Tuesday. She was taken to a hospital, and died a day later. He name was not released. A long-awaited government projection on New Orleans' flood danger recommends that thousands of homes and businesses in areas ravaged by Hurricane Katrina be raised at least 3 feet. A poll was done by The Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg and it suggests many Americans are worried about the dangers of a nuclear-armed Iran. There is a new proposal that would help public workers in the affordable housing crisis. It would be almost $60 million in Broward County and $40 million in Palm Beach County. Mom let neighbor molest her som

Police state that a mother confronted a neighbor who allegedly raped her 7-year-old son and threatened to call police, but reportedly accepted $600 to let the man molest her son again. Kidnapped American reporter freed

Jill Carroll, an American reporter was freed Thursday, nearly three months after she was kidnapped in a bloody ambush that killed her translator. I think it is good that the media is covering this story because it shows that good things do happen in wars. To read more click here.

High Schoolers may need to declare a major

A plan that Gov. Jeb Bush proposed states, hish schoolers may need to declare a major when they enter high school, just like when they enter college. This would help the students in getting a better education, suited more towards what they want to do as a career. If this is approved Florida will be the first state to impose it. I think the media should be covering this story because I think that there are many people who should be made aware of the situation, and keep a close eye on it. Bus crash kills 12 American tourists

There were 12 American tourists in a bus crash in Chile. The bus drove off the side of a mountain. It is good that the media is covering this story because it shows that things happen all the time to people who least expect it. Teen files motion to decalre incompetent

Lionel Tate, the boy we all remember as being convicted in killing a young girl back in 1999, is again in the news. He has filed a motion against new charges, stating that he is imcompetent . The only reason the media is covering this story is because of his previous charge. The Dolphins have a new quarterback, but Terry Bradshaw says that the public shouldn't get too excited about it. I think that the media is doing good covering stories on this topic. Football is such a big pass time, and so many South Floridians enjoy watching it. Plus with the Dolphins 6 straight wins at the end of the season last year, the media knows what the public wants. An Arabic company wants to be in charge of 6 seaport operations, including Miami. Some Americans are outraged. Just a few years ago the company was working closely with Bin Laden, and now they want to take over our seaports? This is a big issues, and the media is doing a good job on keeping an eye on this story, because this not only involves our seaports, but also terrorism and other conflicts. President Bush was warned of Hurricane Katrina, and said he was fully prepared. I think he was fully prepared to sit on his butt and do nothing. This is a president that America chose to represent them. I am glad that the media is throwing stories about him out of proportion, because if he was really in office for the people of America, probably half of the situation that have happened could have been avoided. Non Affordable Housing

With South Florida's population growing, so does the values on homes. Over the past couple years, values of properties have sky rocketed. These days, if a person does not make almost 6 figures a year, they are pretty much not capable of buying a home.
